Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The licenses of six companies specializing in organizing the Umrah pilgrimage were suspended. This was reported by the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the decision of the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, from 1 November 2023, only local tour operators with a special license can organize trips for citizens to Umrah.
The committee said in a statement that 23 companies organizing Umrah without the appropriate license have been given instructions to eliminate violations.
However, six of them did not manage to correct the situation within the established time frame. As a result, outbound tourism licenses were suspended for 10 days for the following companies: Orzu Travel, Lastochka – Planeta, Premier Wanderlust, Bobissalam-Travel, Muslim-Tour MT and Delta Smart Project.
The Tourism Committee urges citizens to exercise caution and avoid using the services of companies without the appropriate license in order to avoid unpleasant situations.
