Six billion soums allocated for improving Tashkent’s drainage system

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  The khokim of Tashkent, Shavkat Umurzakov, has allocated 6 billion soums for the improvement of the city’s drainage system.

These funds will come from the surplus of the local budget following the third quarter of 2024, addressing one of the pressing issues of the urban infrastructure.

In a document signed by the head of the capital’s administration, it is noted that on March 13, 2024, the city council of people’s deputies had already allocated 20.4 billion soums for these purposes.

Additionally, in April 2023, 700 million soums were allocated for the repair of Tashkent’s irrigation and drainage system.

Recently, during a meeting on the "Yashil Makon" project, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the need for developing a master plan and program for creating systems to collect rainwater and artificial reservoirs to effectively address the drainage system issue.
