Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Samarkand International Technological University (SIUT) has launched a unique project that will provide talented youth from rural areas of Uzbekistan with the opportunity to receive an education at the prestigious Gimcheon High School in South Korea.
The project aims to support young people from low-income families who have high potential but lack access to quality education.
As part of the project, five graduates from rural schools in the Samarkand region, who have passed a rigorous selection process, are currently undergoing preparatory courses at SIUT. They are learning Korean and English languages, as well as mathematics, to prepare for their studies in Korea. The education is funded by a grant from the Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees, Bakhtiyor Fazylov, and comfortable living and dining conditions have been provided for the students in Samarkand.
Upon completion of the preparatory courses in December 2023, these five talented individuals from Uzbekistan will travel to South Korea to study at Gimcheon High
School. Their education at this school will be covered by a scholarship, which includes airfare, accommodation, study materials, and tuition fees. Additional financial support for living expenses over the next three years will also be provided by SIUT.
Upon graduation from Gimcheon High School, the students will receive a diploma that will allow them to continue their studies at prestigious universities worldwide.
"This project is an important step in implementing the 'Uzbekistan-2030' Strategy, aimed at reducing poverty and developing human potential," emphasized the rector of SIUT.
The SIUT project not only offers an opportunity for quality education but also provides a chance to change lives, realize personal potential, and contribute to the development of Uzbekistan.
