Singapore’s best practices are being explored to develop the logistics sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A working group headed by Deputy Minister of Transport Abudusamat Muminov is in Singapore. On 8 December, members of the working group visited one of the world’s largest transport and logistics companies, PSA International. got acquainted with the activities of the seaport operator.

During the visit, the representatives of the Ministry were presented in detail the most advanced technologies currently used in the seaport of Singapore, in particular CITOS - an integrated computer terminal management system and PORTNET - a digital system for automatic loading and unloading of goods in the port without a human factor, and also demonstrated a working process.

After that, negotiations were held between the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdusamat Muminov and the regional executive director of PSA International Wang Chi Fung.

Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to sign a draft Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of modernization of logistics infrastructure and construction, development of dry ports, as well as the development and launch of a single digitized logistics and trading platform in Uzbekistan based on the best practices of Singapore and subsequently launch a pilot project on the above directions.
