Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Samarkand International University of Tourism “Silk Road” and the Kazakhstan International University of Tourism and Hospitality.
The signing ceremony was held on 21 December as part of the opening of the Amirsoy ski resort. The memorandum was signed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Rector of the Silk Road International Tourism University, Aziz Abdukhakimov, and Rector of the Kazakhstan International Tourism and Hospitality University, Maynura Murzamadieva.
The memorandum of cooperation provides for the exchange of faculty, staff, students (students, undergraduates, graduate students, doctoral students) for the purpose of training, research and exchange of experience, providing internships and internships.
The development and implementation of joint educational programs is expected within the framework of the “2 + 2” cooperation between both universities, providing for the issuance of double diplomas. In addition, according to the document, joint conferences, academic meetings, symposia, round tables, master classes in the development of the tourism and hospitality industry in the Central Asian region will be held with the participation of specialists and students.
It is noteworthy that, in accordance with this memorandum, it will be possible to jointly participate in the organization and functioning of scientific schools, centers and laboratories for research, and the commercialization of projects involving specialists and students, as well as in scientific grants announced by international, state, public and private foundations and organizations.
The document envisages the creation of the department "Silk Road" in each network university for research under the general project umbrella "Tourism on the Silk Road".
It is gratifying that, according to the Memorandum of Cooperation, joint curricula will be created in accordance with the Bologna process and the UNWTO, ISO, TedQual standards. In addition, the document envisages the publication of articles, reports and other scientific works of members of the faculty, students, undergraduates, doctoral students and university staff in periodicals of the partner university.
It should be noted that the Silk Road International Tourism University is the coordinator of this process.
