Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  American company Sierra Nevada Corporation will undertake the overhaul of six Pilatus PC-12 aircraft for Uzbekistan.

According to the U.S. Department of Defense, a contract worth US$64.24 million has been signed with Uzbekistan. The contract includes the restoration of the aircraft, on-site support, and logistical assistance for the six Pilatus PC-12 planes.

All work will be carried out in Uzbekistan, with the restoration project scheduled for completion by 7 August 2027.

At the time of signing the contract, more than US$26 million was allocated from the Foreign Military Sales Trust Fund. This fund is typically used to cover payments received from buyers.

The contractor for this project is the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, based at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.

It is worth noting that several PC-12 aircraft arrived in Uzbekistan following the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul in August 2021.

Additionally, in December 2021, Uzbekistan Airways acquired a Pilatus PC-24 aircraft.
