Shriram EPC FZE to build US$325 million cement plant in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Indian company Shriram EPC FZE, a subsidiary of the Services Export Promotion Council, has won a project to construct a cement plant worth over US$325 million in Uzbekistan.

The project client is the Uzbek company Ohongron Sement MS.

The project involves the construction of a cement plant with a capacity of 3 million tons in the village of Urgaz, Akhangaran district, Tashkent region.

The work will be carried out on a full-cycle basis, including design, engineering, project management, supply of construction materials, installation, testing, and commissioning of the plant.

According to Shriram EPC FZE, the project is expected to be completed within 30 months.

It’s worth noting that by the end of 2024, new cement production capacities totaling 8 million tons per year will be commissioned in Uzbekistan, according to the press service of the Association "Uzsanoatkurilishmateriallari."

Update: Ohongoron Sement MS has refuted reports that the Indian company Shriram EPC FZE is building a cement plant in Uzbekistan worth over US$325 million.
