Shortan's opponent Al Qadsia clinch Kuwait title
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Al Qadsia will host Yemen’s Al Saqr in the AFC Cup on Tuesday high on confidence after beating Kuwait Sports Club 2-0 to clinch their 14th Kuwait League crown on Friday.
Going into this final round game, Al Qadsia were leading Kuwait SC by one point and needed just a draw to seal the title.
Fahad Al Nasari, however, made his side’s intentions clear two minutes before the half hour mark while Firas Al Khatib doubled the advantage nine minutes before the hour mark.
Al Qadsia are leading the AFC Cup Group B table with six points from two games and will be eyeing another victory to inch a step closer to the Round of 16 on Tuesday against Al Saqr.
Kuwait SC are second on goal difference with six points in Group D and will host Jordan’s Al Wehdat on Wednesday.
