Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Public Council under the Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan should become a kind of bridge between the Ministry and society. This was stated by the Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov during a meeting with members of the Public Council. 

The first meeting of the updated composition of the Public Council under the Ministry was held at the Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan.

The updated composition of the Public Council under the Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan includes: Muzaffar Kasimov (founder of the GroundZero coworking center), Anvar Ikramov (executive director of Roedl & Partner LLC), Feruza Khusnitdinova (methodologist), Bekzod Ortikov (director of Eco Texno city LLC) ), Eduard Ishkulov (director of Game Zale LLC), Tatyana An (director of TM PICCO LLC), Mukhiddin Ibragimov (director of Polimer Group Asia LLC), Soat Rasulov (director of Uppger compliance group LLC), Farrukh Murodov (Director of Interactive robot solution LLC), Alisher Bozorov (Financial Director of the digital branch and JSC Alokabank Sarvar Muhamedov (chief specialist of New General Consulting) and Anton Pershin (Director of Zamonaviy kommunikatsiyalar).

The Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov also participated in a meeting of the Public Council.

During the meeting, priority areas for the work of the new composition of the Public Council were discussed.

The meeting participants agreed to develop a strategy for the work of the Public Council, which will determine the main areas of work of the council.

Sherzod Shermatov noted that the Public Council should become a kind of bridge between the Ministry and society. Noting that large-scale reforms are underway in the public education system, he emphasized that, together with the public council, it is necessary to turn the promotion of education into a kind of nationwide movement.

In his opinion, every resident of Uzbekistan should be aware that education is a fundamental factor for the success of the younger generation, so teachers and parents need to work together to increase the interest of young people in working on themselves. On the other hand, it is necessary to improve local public control. Despite the fact that Supervisory Boards are being created in schools, which are designed to introduce public control and accountability for school principals, much remains to be done for their effective work.

The Public Council is a permanent advisory body that carries out its activities on a voluntary basis.

The main tasks of the public council are the exercise of public control over the activities of the state body and its officials to take into account public interests and public opinion in the adopted regulatory legal acts, decisions, as well as in state, sectoral and territorial development programs, ensuring the implementation of legislative requirements in the field of protection rights and legitimate interests of citizens, legal entities, public interests, fulfillment of tasks and functions assigned to a state body etc.

The Public Council also carries out systematic monitoring and analysis of public opinion on the activities of the state body on the most important issues affecting the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens, conducting social surveys, including using information and communication technologies.
