Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the Junior (U20) World Wrestling Championship currently taking place in Samokov, Bulgaria, the Uzbekistan national team secured a gold medal.

Freestyle wrestler Sherzod Poyonov achieved the top result in the 92 kg weight category, confidently defeating opponents from Greece, Japan, Canada, and representatives of Russia competing under a neutral status.

In the final match, the Uzbek athlete delivered a vivid and decisive performance, leaving no chance for Kamil Kurugliev of Kazakhstan, and claimed the title of Junior World Champion.
