Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A third assassination attempt on former U.S. President and Republican candidate Donald Trump was thwarted in California.

Chad Bianco, the sheriff of Riverside County, announced that authorities likely prevented another assassination attempt. The incident took place near the venue where Trump was addressing his supporters.

However, The New York Post, citing law enforcement sources, reported that the FBI does not classify the incident as an assassination attempt, stating that Trump’s life was not in danger.

A 49-year-old man named Vem Miller was detained at a checkpoint, and officers found a shotgun, a handgun, and a high-capacity magazine in his vehicle. Miller did not resist arrest.

According to the sheriff, Miller is affiliated with an anti-government group and presented counterfeit tickets to access the event during a search.

Previously, Trump’s campaign requested enhanced security measures, including restrictions on flights over his residences and rally venues, as well as the use of military aircraft, due to potential threats allegedly coming from Iran.

It is worth recalling that on 1 July 3, during a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump sustained an ear injury when a suspect with an assault rifle was neutralized by a sniper.

In September, a second assassination attempt was made near a golf club in Florida.
