Shavkat Umurzakov meets with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Acting Khokim of Tashkent Shavkat Umurzakov sincerely welcomed the Ambassador of Kazakhstan and congratulated him on the start of his activities in our country. 

He noted that relations between our countries are developing on the basis of agreements on strategic partnership, alliance and a number of other agreements reached during high-level meetings and dialogues between the leaders of the two countries. He said that Tashkent is developing cooperation relations with the cities of Astana, Almaty, Aktau, Turkestan region and other regions of Kazakhstan, and that by the end of 2022, the trade turnover of our capital with Kazakhstan amounted to US$1.8 billion.

In addition, he noted that Kazakhstani companies operating in our city mainly specialize in construction, banking and finance, pharmaceuticals, industry and a number of other services. He also said that the road maps developed between the two countries are becoming important in the development of mutually beneficial relations, that the expansion of geography and areas of cooperation contributes to the mutual interests of the parties.

Beibut Atamkulov stressed that large-scale reforms have been carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years for the benefit of the people and sustainable development. He noted that modern construction continues at a high pace in Tashkent, work to improve the living standards of the population, create opportunities for cultural leisure for residents and tourists. He said that Kazakh firms and companies are interested in establishing cooperation with Uzbekistan and Tashkent. Also, drawing attention to the fact that in 2024 Tashkent was declared the youth capital of the CIS countries, he noted the expediency of agreeing on an action plan for the next year and appropriate preparation for its implementation. In particular, he stressed the importance of holding sports and cultural events, IT conferences, scientific and practical dialogues of youth, events that serve to exchange knowledge and experience.

Emphasizing the importance of establishing sister city relations between Tashkent and the cities of Almaty and Astana, he proposed to intensify trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, social, investment and other projects between our cities, as well as the mutual visit of delegations from the two cities.

Noting that the Smart City project being implemented in Kazakhstan was included in the world rating, he stressed that cooperation in this direction is also promising. He said that there are many important projects in Tashkent, in particular, they are interested in the experience of organizing separate bike paths, and it would be useful for both sides to exchange experiences and cooperate on such successful projects.

He said that today in the Kazakhstani market there is a high demand for export products manufactured in Uzbekistan, in particular, an interest in purchasing textiles, light industry, household appliances and other products directly from local manufacturers, and for this he proposed to establish relations with enterprises. in this direction and the opening of the Tashkent trading house in Kazakhstan. He also expressed his opinion on the further increase in investment projects.

He also expressed hope that the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM. Central Asia, which will be held in Tashkent on 24-26 April, a large delegation from Kazakhstan will arrive, he expressed the hope that important meetings with the participation of officials from both sides will be mutually beneficial during the event.

Shavkat Umurzakov noted that the proposals and initiatives of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan are especially important for Tashkent, and stated that he was ready to work together in all areas, to expand and develop existing cooperation in every possible way.

The parties stated that practical dialogues would be continued.
