Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will resolutely continue reforms in agriculture. This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his address to the Parliament.

According to the head of state, 100 thousand hectares of sown areas were transferred to more than 400 thousand dekhkans for the development of agriculture. Thanks to this, an additional 1.5 million tons of food products were grown. Most importantly, more than 1 million 200 thousand of our villagers have received jobs and income.

Therefore, in 2023 we will allocate another 100,000 hectares of cultivated land with good water supply to the population. Due to this, about 350 thousand new dekhkan farms will be created, the head of Uzbekistan added.

“We will actively support cooperation, develop infrastructure of small and medium capacity for storage, sorting and processing of agricultural products,” Mirziyoyev said.

“Total in 2023 for projects to create in the agricultural sector, US$1 billion will be allocated to high value added chains,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
