Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During his official visit to Malaysia, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Islamic Arts Museum, one of the largest museum collections in the country, founded in 1998.

The museum is an outstanding example of Islamic architecture, with a total area exceeding 30,000 square meters. Uzbek artisans contributed to the design of the dome and restoration works, highlighting the cultural ties between the two countries.

The museum’s collection includes over 10,000 pieces of Islamic art, including a unique collection of Quran manuscripts, rare ceramics and jewelry, historical weapons, architectural models, ornaments, and numismatic items.

A special place in the exhibition is occupied by around 200 artifacts created during different historical periods in the territory of modern Uzbekistan. Among them are medieval manuscripts, traditional jewelry, famous Uzbek abro fabrics, samples of folk clothing, and ceramics from the Eastern Renaissance period.

During the tour, Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural and scientific ties, initiating joint research, organizing exhibitions, and expanding bilateral cooperation in the study and popularization of Islamic art.
