Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 8 September, at the invitation of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev embarked on a working visit to Astana.

As part of the visit, the President of Uzbekistan will participate in the official opening ceremony of the 5th World Nomad Games, an international sporting event featuring ethnic sports included in UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

More than 2,000 athletes from around 90 countries, including a team from Uzbekistan, are expected to take part in this sporting event.

The 5th World Nomad Games will be held from 8 to 13 September 2024, in Astana. The Games aim to celebrate the traditional sporting and cultural heritage of nomadic peoples worldwide.
