Shavkat Mirziyoyev takes part in iftar

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 March, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in iftar, which was organized throughout the country.

Islam plays a key role in the life and spirituality of our people. The believers of our country are deeply committed to Islamic principles, faithfully follow the teachings and respect established traditions.

This year, our people greeted Ramadan with special warmth and anticipation - a month that is designed to enrich spiritual life, strengthen faith, mercy and mutual support. Recitations of the Koran are held in mosques, which fill the country with blessings and spiritual prosperity. The bonds of brotherhood and friendship in society are strengthened, mutual understanding and support are deepened. Faith encourages people to show greater compassion and care, particularly towards the sick, elderly and those in need of help.

On this blessed evening, in every region of our country, in every mahalla, iftar tables were set. Respected elders from Fergana and Andijan regions also took part in the event in Namangan region.

The head of our state again addressed warm words to the Muslims of our country, congratulating them on the month of Ramadan.

- Today, representatives of the clergy, the older generation and the public are with us, we are celebrating iftar together. It was as if the entire multinational people of Uzbekistan had gathered at one table, symbolizing a single family. I think that such events contribute to raising the honor and dignity of a person, educating young people in this noble spirit,” the President emphasized.

The head of state expressed gratitude to his compatriots who demonstrate generosity and invest their efforts in good deeds.

Truly, since ancient times, our people have seen the highest virtues in supporting their neighbors, in showing love and care. These noble character traits unite us into one nation and give us strength to overcome life's challenges.

In recent years, attention to our compatriots working and receiving education abroad has increased.

Important measures are being taken to ensure their rights and interests, material and moral support, including returning to their homeland, providing jobs and sources of income, and social protection of their family members.

Recently, more than 40 of our religious leaders visited Russia, the USA, South Korea, Turkiyr, Egypt to meet with our compatriots, urge them to preserve their faith and moral values, as well as to be vigilant in the current difficult situation and respect the laws in the host country, to guard against wrong actions.

The President expressed congratulations and wishes for health and well-being to our compatriots abroad.

The updated Constitution enshrines the principle “Uzbekistan is a social state.” On this basis, a completely new system of social protection is being formed, which is aimed primarily at providing assistance to those in need, including persons with disabilities, low-income people, orphans, and people who need outside support.

Speaking about this, Shavkat Mirziyoyev quoted Alisher Navoi: “He who can console a grieving heart is as if he is restoring the Kaaba.” These words reflect the essence of the Islamic understanding of humanity and mercy, recalling that every Muslim should wish for his neighbor what he wishes for himself.

The efforts of our state aimed at improving the well-being of the population and reducing poverty were emphasized.

At the end of his address, the leader of our country expressed good wishes:

- May the holy month of Ramadan strengthen peace and stability in our country, in all Muslim states and throughout the world.

Let brotherhood and mutual respect reign between people and nations. Let the strong be support for the weak, the generous be helpers for those in need, and the youth be support for the elders. So that we unwaveringly walk along the right path, destined by our faith, and at the same time keep up with the times. Let our youth express themselves on the world stage with their knowledge, contributing to the growth of the authority of our country. Let Uzbekistan become one of the most advanced and developed countries in the world. May our fasts be accepted and our prayers heard.

Verses of the Qoran were read and duas were offered for the peace and well-being of our people.
