Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Shavkat Mirziyoyev solemnly took the oath and took office as President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 

Shavkat Mirziyoyev solemnly took the oath, accepted the Highest badge and standard of the President. At these moments, the head of state delivers an inaugural speech.

“I accept my election to the post of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan as another high recognition of our policy aimed at ensuring human rights and freedoms, the interests of the people,” the President said.

In the early presidential elections in Uzbekistan, held on 9 July, Shavkat Mirziyoyev won 87.05% of the vote.
