Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed the law "On Probation."

The law introduces a comprehensive set of measures to ensure the enforcement of penalties such as deprivation of rights, mandatory community and correctional work, and restrictions on freedom. It also includes social, legal, and educational measures aimed at convicted individuals. The primary goal is to prevent offenses and address their underlying causes and conditions.

The Cabinet of Ministers will be responsible for implementing state policy in this area. The Probation Service, under the Department of Public Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will act as the authorized body.

Assistance in probation supervision will be provided by:

- Labor authorities;
- Healthcare management authorities;
- The Committee for Family and Women and its regional divisions;
- Executive authorities in education and educational institutions;
- The Youth Affairs Agency and its regional divisions.

Placement on probation will be based on court decisions or acts of amnesty/pardon. Probation officers in district (city) divisions will manage the records through an information system.

Electronic monitoring devices (such as bracelets) will be used for individuals who violate the terms of their punishment or are held administratively accountable.

Educational measures will be aimed at fostering law-abiding behavior. The behavior of individuals under probation supervision will be evaluated every three months and reflected in their socio-psychological profiles.
