Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Juzimbog neighborhood in the Kegeyli district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The neighborhood, which has around 4,300 residents, is home to people employed across three schools, six kindergartens, and over seventy small businesses.

Specializing in livestock and agriculture, the area has 990 family-owned plots. Drawing from the experience of Saykhunabad, local resources have been utilized effectively. For instance, 174 citizens have been granted long-term leases of over 128 hectares for agricultural activities, allowing them to engage in farming and earn additional income. The number of families creating greenhouses and harvesting crops twice a year is also increasing.

In the neighborhood, the enterprise "Orol Agro" has established a vineyard for the youth. Forty young people have each been allocated an average of 25 hundredths of a hectare.

The vineyard, utilizing the "voish" method, also makes effective use of inter-row spaces. Various vegetables are grown, yielding up to 400 tons of produce. Once fully productive, the vineyard is expected to produce around 200 tons of grapes annually, generating revenue of 4 billion sums.

The President engaged with the young men and women involved in agriculture.

They shared how they have taken advantage of recent opportunities to obtain land, grow melons and greens, and generate income. They also discussed their plans and aspirations.

“I am pleased to see that you have jobs and are confident about the future. My main goal is for my people to be content and happy. What we are doing is right, but we need to scale up this work,” said the President.

After listening to the youth’s suggestions, the President issued directives to construct a cold storage facility for agricultural products, support young people in organizing weddings, and assist with educational contracts.
