Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 March, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, current issues concerning the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries were discussed.

Vyacheslav Volodin conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to the head of state.

Special attention was given to strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, including monitoring the implementation of agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Russia to Uzbekistan in May 2024.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of thorough preparation for the second meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission, which will take place in Uzbekistan with wide participation from the regions of both countries.

The parties also highlighted the need for active parliamentary support in implementing priority projects in trade, economic, and investment spheres, as well as in developing joint programs on labor migration and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
