Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 7 April, during the 150th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Chairwoman of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova.

At the beginning of the meeting, the distinguished guest conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to the President of Uzbekistan.

The sides discussed important issues related to further strengthening Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance.

The productive joint work within the framework of the declared Year of Economic Cooperation was noted with satisfaction. There has been an increase in trade turnover and active promotion of joint projects in various sectors of the economy. Cultural and humanitarian events are regularly held, contributing to the rapprochement of the peoples of the two countries.

The importance of further practical interaction and active inter-parliamentary exchanges was emphasized, aiming to monitor the implementation of agreements reached and develop new initiatives ahead of upcoming high-level summits.
