Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 30 January, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the founder of Lukoil, Vagit Alekperov.

During the conversation, they discussed the implementation of projects by Russia’s leading oil and gas company in Uzbekistan’s energy sector.

Specifically, the discussion focused on geological exploration and development of prospective hydrocarbon fields, infrastructure modernization, and the expansion of the retail network for petroleum products.

The parties exchanged views on the prospects for expanding the company’s activities in the country. Special attention was given to workforce training, employment opportunities for specialists, and the implementation of socially significant programs.
