Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has extended his condolences to U.S. President Donald Trump in connection with the tragic plane crash over Ronald Reagan Airport in Washington, which resulted in numerous casualties.

The Uzbek leader expressed his sincere sympathies and support to the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as to the American people as a whole.

On 29 January 2025, a passenger aircraft and a military helicopter collided near Washington. A Bombardier CRJ700 operated by American Airlines, en route from Kansas, crashed into a U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter while approaching landing at Ronald Reagan National Airport.

The passenger jet was carrying 60 passengers and 4 crew members, while the helicopter had 3 military personnel on board.

Preliminary reports indicate that all individuals aboard both aircraft perished in the collision. According to NBC News, among the victims were reportedly 14 figure skaters returning home from a competition.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances and causes of the collision. Emergency response teams and representatives from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are working at the crash site.

The U.S. president has extended his condolences to the victims’ families and has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.
