Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim jointly visited the headquarters of Petronas, located in the famous Twin Towers complex, and held talks with the company’s president, Mohamed Taufik.

The meeting focused on prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with the global company, which holds leading positions in the oil and gas industry, petrochemicals, and renewable energy.

The President of Uzbekistan expressed support for initiatives aimed at implementing joint projects in the areas of deep processing of raw materials and the development of "green" energy.

Key areas of collaboration included geological exploration and the development of promising hydrocarbon fields, the implementation of advanced carbon capture and storage technologies, as well as training highly qualified specialists at the Petronas University.
