Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, on her reelection and extended his best wishes.
In his message, the head of state highlighted Ursula von der Leyen’s significant personal contribution to elevating the comprehensive relations between Uzbekistan and the European Union to a new level in recent years, as well as her unwavering support for democratic and socio-economic reforms in Uzbekistan.
President Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that collaborative efforts will elevate cooperation across all priority areas to a higher level. He emphasized Uzbekistan’s commitment to the prompt signing of the Enhanced Cooperation and Partnership Agreement, which will open a new chapter in relations between Uzbekistan and the European Union.
The message also noted that holding the first "Central Asia - European Union" summit in Samarkand in the near future would be an important practical step towards strengthening regional ties and implementing mutually beneficial projects and programs.
