Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulates Donald Trump

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 6 November, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a congratulatory message to Donald Trump, congratulating him on his election as the President of the United States of America.

In his letter, Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that Trump’s victory in the elections confirms the support of the American people for his political plans and intentions, aimed at strengthening the international authority and economic power of the U.S.

Mirziyoyev emphasized that Uzbekistan highly values the consistent position of the United States in supporting the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Uzbekistan, as well as Washington’s contribution to supporting the reforms being carried out in the country.

The President of Uzbekistan noted that it was during Trump’s first presidential term, after bilateral negotiations in May 2018 at the White House, that relations between the two countries reached a new level of strategic partnership.

Over the years, thanks to Trump’s personal attention, unprecedentedly close ties were established between Uzbekistan and the U.S. in political, economic, and security matters. Mirziyoyev placed special importance on strengthening dialogue based on mutual trust and respect. Active exchanges of high-level visits allowed cooperation to reach a qualitatively new level and expand in the humanitarian, military-technical, and economic fields.

Mirziyoyev emphasized Uzbekistan’s readiness to continue close friendly relations with the Trump administration, expressing the country’s interest in fully implementing the agreements reached. In particular, he highlighted the need for further expansion of regional cooperation within the "C5+1" framework, as well as strengthening bilateral trade and investment ties between Central Asia and the U.S.

The President of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that joint efforts would enrich the partnership in areas such as trade, banking and finance, energy, transportation, agriculture, digitalization, innovation, and education. Mirziyoyev also considered joint efforts to ensure stability in Afghanistan and promote its economic and social development as an important element of cooperation.

In conclusion, Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited Donald Trump for an official visit to Uzbekistan, expressing hope that this visit would mark a new phase in the development of bilateral relations.
