Share on non-state sector in Uzbekistan’s GDP makes up 81.3% in 2009
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan made up 48.097 trillion soums, or grew by 8.1% year-on-year, the report of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The committee said non-state sector produced 81.3% of GDP of Uzbekistan in 2009 compared to 79.6% in 2008. Share of state sector decreased from 20.4% in 2008 to 18.7% in 2009.

Share of small businesses in GDP comprised 50.1% in 2009, which is 1.9 percentage points more compared to 2008. Small enterprises and microfirms accounted 31.2% of GDP, which is 1.7 percentage points more compared to 2008.

Tashkent city recorded the largest growth of gross regional product in 2009 with 13%. Namangan region (9.9%), Samarkand (9.7%) and Andijan region (9.6%) followed the Uzbek capital.

Share of goods production in GDP made up 46.1% in 2009 (47.4% in 2008) and service – 47.2% (45.3% in 2008). Net taxes to goods and export-import operations comprised 6.7% in GDP (7.3% in 2008).
