The Government of Uzbekistan approved a programme on development of service sector for 2016-2020. The programme was adopted to ensure balanced development and diversification of the activities of the enterprises in service sector, increasing competitiveness and quality of provided services.

According to the programme, the share of communication and information sector will be increased due to ensuring technical opportunities of access of population to telecommunication, providing quality of services, full transfer to digital telephony and television.

The programme underlined that the growth of communication and information will make up 2.9 times by 2020 compared to 2015. Annual growth of the sector will make up 19-27% in 2016-2020.
