Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 November, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered to study the issue of suitability for the position of chairman of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights.

Shahrukh Sharakhmetov currently holds the position of Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights.

At the meeting, serious shortcomings in the work of the committee were revealed, such as the lack of equal conditions for local producers in retail chains, problems with receiving payment for goods, as well as frequent complaints about the quality and prices of products.

During the discussion, issues of supporting milk producers were also considered. The government was instructed to develop state support measures for enterprises involved in the production and processing of milk.

One of the proposals was the introduction of a system of separate labeling of products made from powdered and natural milk, as well as the organization of mobile meat and dairy stations.

It is noted that all this indicates serious shortcomings in the activities of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights.

In this regard, it was instructed to consider the issue of Shakhrukh Shorahmetov’s suitability to hold the position of Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights.
