Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Shakhlo Turdikulova was appointed as vice-president of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

She became the first woman to hold this position in the 80-year history of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. At the same time, she retained the post of director of the Center for Advanced Technologies under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.

Since 2020, Shakhlo Turdikulova has been Deputy Minister of Innovative Development, since 2023 - Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, responsible for science and innovation.

For her significant contribution to strengthening international partnerships in the field of science and innovation, she was awarded the Dustlik Order in 2018.
