Several types of licenses and permits will be canceled for entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 1 March 2024, business entities in Uzbekistan will no longer require 16 types of licenses and permits, in accordance with the new decree of the head of state. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Justice, which is responsible for the development of this document.

Significant changes in the licensing and permitting system include the complete abolition of 7 types of permits, such as permission to transport goods, when included in the register of customs carriers. Another 8 types of permits will be abolished by combining them, including permission to export objects under export control and a license to export and import specific goods.

Three types of licenses and permits will be transferred to a notification format, which, for example, means that it will be possible to operate as a travel agent without a mandatory license.

There is also the possibility of remote assessment of applicants for licenses and permits using video communication.

The requirement to place IUS$15,000 in the Safe Tourism Fund for outbound tourism has been lifted.

Now legal entities can independently choose the place of inspection for their vehicles, in contrast to the previous practice, when they were required to undergo inspection in places determined by the internal affairs bodies.

These changes will allow entrepreneurs to save almost 350 billion soums annually, as stated in the official statement.

At the meeting with the President, it was noted that entrepreneurs are still required to provide additional information, despite its availability in information systems. In this regard, starting this year, 34 types of certificates and reporting will be canceled, which will allow more than 21 thousand entrepreneurs to save 500 million soums annually.

The President instructed to introduce a unified reporting system, since at the moment there is no unified list of reports submitted by entrepreneurs.
