Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Samarkand, Syrdarya and Jizzakh regions of Uzbekistan, citizens were detained who offered to send their compatriots to the United States for a fee.
A 25-year-old native of Akdarya district living in the United States was detained in Samarkand. In collusion with a relative, a student at the Samarkand State Institute of Economics and Service, he promised to send a local resident to work in the United States through Mexico for US$16,000. The student was detained upon receiving US$10,000. It turned out that a native of Akdarya district had previously promised four citizens to send them to work in USA, receiving US$41,600 from them, which he spent on his needs.
A similar case was identified in Jizzakh, where a 25-year-old resident of Andijan region was detained after receiving US$10,000. He demanded US$17,000 from a resident of Farish district and promised to send him to the USA along the route “Turkey - Europe - Nicaragua - Mexico”.
In Syrdarya region, a native of Syrdarya, who is a US citizen, in conspiracy with a local resident, promised to send him to the US through Mexico and obtain a visa and other documents for US$8,200. While transferring US$8,100 and 1.24 million soums, a resident of Yangier was detained.
Based on the revealed facts, criminal cases have been initiated.
