Special industrial zone Angren was created in line with the decree of the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov in April 2012.

Currently, 11 enterprises are operating in the zone. Among them are Аngren guvur zavodi (production of copper pipes), EGL-NUR (production of energy outdoor lamps), Angren Shakar (production of sugar), Uz Shindong Silicon (production of silicon), Uz-Prista Recycling (production of basic oils from used raw materials), etc.

The volume of produced goods made up 618.4 billion soums in January-August 2016, while the exports of products – US$6.7 million, SIZ Angren said.

By the end of 2016, it is planned to commission seven more enterprises, which will specialize on production of glazed porcelain, plastic materials, composite reinforcement and so on.

In cooperation with the Chinese company Poly Technologies Inc, the plant on production of conveyor belt, agriculture and automobile tires is constructed now. It is planned to launch the plant next year.

The construction and reconstruction of sections of trunk and feeder roads with the length of 15.7 km is underway. In line with the project of “Uzbekistan Temir Yollari”, investments for $2.278 million were used to expand the railway station. Electricity and gas supply were improved, water supply and sewage systems were reconstructed.
