Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 March, a meeting of the Sub-Commission on Interbank Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Moscow.

The meeting was attended by representatives of central banks, ministries of finance and economic development, banks of the two countries, as well as representatives of the Uzbek Republican Currency Exchange and the Moscow Exchange.

The meeting was co-chaired by First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan T. Ishmetov and First Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia K. Yudayeva.

During the event, the parties discussed a wide range of issues covering cooperation in the areas of development of interbank cooperation, national payment systems, banking supervision and regulation, including consolidated supervision of cross-border banks, improving financial affordability, and personnel training.

The parties agreed to work out a Memorandum of Understanding between the central banks of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of banking supervision, which will create an opportunity for close cooperation and exchange of experience of central banks in the applied approaches of regulation and supervision of the banking sector banks.

In order to organize the work on the intersystem integration of the national payment card systems of Russia and Uzbekistan and to bring together approaches to regulation, supervision in the field of payment systems, an agreement was reached on the elaboration of an Agreement on cooperation in this area.

The parties signed an agreement on cooperation between the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of personnel training.

All participants of the event positively assessed the meeting and noted that this initiative will contribute to the development and strengthening of interbank cooperation. The next meeting of the Sub-Commission will be held in Tashkent.
