Six players were competing for the AFC Player of the Year award. They are Hadi Aghily (Iran), Keisuke Honda (Japan), Koo Ja-cheol (Korea Republic), Server Djeparov (Uzbekistan), Shinji Kagawa (Japan) and Yeom Ki-hun (Korea Republic).
