Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A seriously ill infant, a citizen of Uzbekistan, has been returned to his homeland from Yekaterinburg with the support of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan, Dunyo news agency reported.
The infant, identified as M.S., was born on 26 April 2024, and was suffering from a severe diagnosis while receiving treatment at a perinatal center in Yekaterinburg. Due to constant respiratory insufficiency, he was placed on a special apparatus providing humidified heated oxygen.
Based on the medical commission’s conclusion, it was determined that the child needed to be transported to perinatal centers in Uzbekistan with medical assistance.
Given the infant’s critical condition, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Yekaterinburg promptly issued a biometric passport for the child’s departure.
The infant, along with his parents and pediatrician Jahongir Usmanov from the National Medical Association for Children, was sent to Tashkent for further treatment.
It is also noteworthy that diplomatic efforts and local authorities in the Ural Federal District are working to identify unaccompanied children and orphans from Uzbekistan and provide them with assistance in returning home.
