Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Today, in Tashkent at the International Airport named after Islam Karimov, a solemn ceremony of welcoming the first mountaineer of Uzbekistan Sergey Denisenko, who conquered Everest from the southern slope, which is one of the most difficult routes, took place. The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports of Uzbekistan Avaz Karimov, relatives and media representatives.
Love for the mountains from childhood was instilled by the parents, as the family very often went to the mountains. Sergey often spent his time in mountain camps, went hiking. Mom is a geography teacher, his father also conquered many peaks in his time, behind him the North Caucasus, Pamir, Tien Shan for which he has a full set of medals.
In 2007, he opened his own advertising agency and works as an industrial climber. It was he who installed the letters on the tallest building in Tashkent - the 21-storey Hilton hotel in Tashkent City.
Sergey Denisenko spent a long time preparing for the ascent to the highest peak in the world, Everest (Jomolungma), which is located at 8848.86 meters. By the way, this is not Sergey’s first ascent: in 2019 he conquered the Mera peak in Nepal (Mera Peak is considered the highest trekking peak in Nepal).
But Everest has always been a cherished dream. And now the dream became a reality, on 11 April 2021, his expedition to Everest began together with the Kuluar team as part of Nikita Balabanov’s group, he began his ascent to the summit. Work was carried out on acclimatization in difficult weather conditions. Very changeable weather, could disrupt the ascent, but patience and a great desire to stand on top of the world did come true.
Denisenko climbed the following peaks:
- (2020): Khoja Gur Gur Ota (3720 m), adjacent to Mount Khoja Buz Barak (3920 m), which is the highest point of the Boysuntau ridge in Boysun district;
-Pick Diplomat (2310 m), located on the Karzhantau ridge on the border with Kazakhstan;
- Kyzylnura is one of the highest peaks (3267 m) in the spurs of the Chatkal ridge of the western Tien Shan, located in the center of Tashkent region of Uzbekistan east of Tashkent and south-southwest of Bolshoi Chimgan.
Okhotnichiy Peak (3099 m) is one of the most beautiful peaks of the Western Tien Shan.
- (2019): Babaytag is a peak and mountain range, with a maximum height (3555 m.) On the western spur of the Chatkal ridge in the Tashkent region, in the vicinity of the cities of Angren and Yangiabad.
Bolshoi Chimgan is a very large domed mountain range that is part of the Chatkal ridge. The highest point of the massif is known under the name of the Big Chimgan peak and has a height (3309 m). It is located in the north-eastern part of the Tashkent region, 80 km from Tashkent.
