Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Close interaction will make it possible to successfully counter challenges and threats. This was stated by the Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev at the site of the CIS international expert forum on information security held in Tashkent.
In his opinion, the forum provides an opportunity for scientists and experts from the CIS countries to discuss topical issues of information security, exchange best practices, develop appropriate recommendations and take another step towards solving urgent problems of society's vulnerability in the era of global "digitalization".
Lebedev noted that information technologies - given the scale of their spread - are increasingly being used by destructive forces to interfere in the internal affairs of sovereign states, incite hostility and incite violence.
According to the chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, in modern conditions, the protection of the information space is de facto identical to the tasks of ensuring national security, therefore, the regulation and unification of interstate relations in this area is one of the priority areas of activity of the Commonwealth bodies. The sectoral cooperation bodies of the Commonwealth are systematically expanding the sphere of practical implementation of the above-mentioned documents, introducing forms of partnership adequate to modern requirements.
The forum is held by the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee. More than 60 representatives of the states of Central Asia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Russia and Moldova, including specialists from international organizations and leading analytical centers, heads of relevant ministries and departments, take part in it. Among them are high representatives of the CIS, including the General Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth of the CIS in the field of communications Nurudin Mukhitdinov, the head of the CIS Anti-Terrorist Center Andrey Novikov.
