Seo Jang-geum hands over a US$3 million series to the people of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Lee Young-ae, Ambassador of Uzbekistan’s tourism brand in the Republic of Korea, who played the role of Seo Jang-geum in the popular television series Pearl of the Palace, donated a new series with her participation to Uzbek people.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development, Aziz Abduhakimov, a meeting was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in South Korea with the ambassador of the tourist brand of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea, famous actress Lee Young-ae and Chairman of GroupEight Bjung Jung Song.

During the meeting, the actress regretted that she could not come to Uzbekistan as previously planned in April of this year, because of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic, and said she would definitely visit our country with producer Bjung Jung Son after normalizing the situation with COVID-19.

The actress noted that she intends to continue, in cooperation with the State Committee for Tourism and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Korea, to continue to promote the tourism brand of our country and to acquaint the inhabitants of the Country of morning freshness with the rich cultural heritage and attractions of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, Lee Young-ae donated the series “Saimdang, Memoir of Colors” as a gratuitous gift to the people of Uzbekistan, in which she played the main role. The actress expressed hope that watching this film will help to decorate the leisure of the audience of Uzbekistan, most of which currently spend most of their time at home. “At the initiative of the head of state, representatives of prominent foreign political, cultural, sports and business circles are appointed ambassadors of tourism of Uzbekistan abroad.

The participation of such individuals in the promotion of tourism will serve to increase the flow of foreign tourists to our country. Of course, it is commendable that in the current pandemic, ambassadors of tourism brands in foreign countries show such attention to Uzbekistan and its people, Aziz Abduhakimov said.

It should be noted that work is currently underway on the translation and dubbing of the film in cooperation with the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, after the completion of these processes, the series will be presented to viewers.
