Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The opening ceremony of the Sentob tourist village was held in Nurata district of Navoi region. It was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and its subordination in Navoi region, the khokim of Nurata district Azamat Faiziev, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan Abdujabbar Aziz Rahmonzoda, activists of the district.
“A lot of work is being done to develop the tourism industry in our region. Thanks to this, about 200 unemployed residents, including women, received a permanent job after the organization of the tourist village "Sentob". To date, there are more than 30 business entities. In the village of "Sentob" there is a regular flow of foreign tourists from England, France, Austria, Russia and other countries," said Azamat Fayziev, khokim of the Nurata district, opening the event.
Also at the event, a representative of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Lola Rakhmanbayeva, spoke about the attention paid by the head of state to the tourism sector, ongoing reforms to develop tourism, and the role of tourist villages in the development of the industry.
Lola Zakirlaeva, Deputy Head of the Department of the Ministry, noted the role of tourist villages in the development of the industry, and the process of organizing the activities of family guest houses in them:
“At the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and its department in Navoi region, 20 family guest houses and 3 hostels operate in the village of Sentob. According to the norms, signs with the names of guest houses were installed there. At the moment, more than 15 types of tourist services have been launched in the tourist village.
After that, employees of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism presented a certificate to the khokim of Nurata region Azamat Faiziev, officially confirming that "Sentob is a tourist village." At the same time, Murad Mirzoev, chairman of the Sentob village, was also awarded a letter of thanks.
The event was attended by Ambassador Tajikistan to Uzbekistan Abdujabbar Aziz Rahmonzoda, who congratulated the residents of the village "Sentob" with the status of a tourist village. At the opening ceremony of the tourist village, cultural and sports programs were also presented, reflecting the national values and traditions of the Uzbek people.
In addition, the villagers cooked sumalak, which is considered the main dish of the Navruz holiday.
It should be noted that in order to develop the tourism infrastructure in the village, 5 km of the internal road leading to the village has been repaired. At the same time, two pedestrian bridges, two selfie zones, three sanitary and hygienic posts, a symbolic stele at the entrance to the village of Sentob, and one tourist information center have been built and are ready for operation. The indicators are based on the standards of family guest houses and hostels.
