Senate to hold plenary session on 6 April

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 April, a regular meeting of the Kengash of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis was held in Tashkent. It was conducted by the Chairman of the Senate Tanzila Narbayeva.

At the meeting, a resolution was adopted to convene the thirty-ninth plenary session of the Senate on 6 April 2023.

It was noted that at the next plenary meeting, which will be held in the form of videoconference, it is planned to discuss a number of laws and issues.

Among them are the laws “On the provision of legal assistance at the expense of the state”, “On the introduction of additions and amendments to the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on administrative responsibility aimed at further strengthening the protection and protection of the State Border of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “On the introduction of amendments and additions to certain legislative acts Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the further improvement of the system of reliable protection of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of women and children.

In addition, the laws “On introducing amendments and additions to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at ensuring the inevitability of liability for corruption crimes” will be discussed.

The laws “On the ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan on the transfer of persons sentenced to deprivation of liberty for further serving their sentence (Nur-Sultan, on 6 December 2021)”, “On the ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on cooperation in military area (Tashkent, on 21 June 2022)”, “On the ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on military-technical cooperation (Tashkent, on 21 June 2022)” will be considered as well.

Along with this, the senators will hear a report from the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman) on activities in 2022, information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan on activities in 2022.

In addition, the agenda of the plenary session also stipulates consideration of issues on sending a parliamentary request to the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan on measures to ensure the storage and security of museum items and collections, on the implementation of the resolution of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 7 October  2022 No. PS -638-IV on the implementation of certain tasks to ensure environmental stability and the widespread introduction of modern innovative technologies in the Aral Sea region.

At the plenary session, it is also planned to approve the resolutions of the Kengash of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
