Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The fifty-fourth plenary session of the Senate will be held on 10 July. This decision was made by the Senate Kengash of the Oliy Majlis.
During the session of the Senate Kengash, chaired by Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbayeva on 8 July, a resolution was adopted to convene the plenary session of the Senate on 10 July 2024.
The session is planned to be conducted using video conferencing systems and will involve discussions on a number of important issues.
Among them are legislative bills such as amendments to various legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan, amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Employment," and amendments to the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Liability aimed at strengthening control over illegal circulation of pyrotechnic products.
Also scheduled for discussion are bills amending the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Liability in connection with enhanced measures to prevent offenses and crimes, amendments to the Urban Planning Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at improving the system of public administration in urban planning and development of urban planning documentation for settlements, and amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Licensing, Permitting and Notification Procedures" aimed at improving the activities of customs brokers and international courier deliveries.
The agenda also includes bills amending the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Plant Quarantine" in connection with simplifying phytosanitary requirements, and amendments to various legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at improving public administration in the field of education within the framework of administrative reforms.
In addition, the session will address issues related to the ratification of agreements concluded with Turkmenistan and Türkiye.
Senate members will also discuss the progress made in developing entrepreneurship and improving the environmental situation in the city of Tashkent, as well as the results of parliamentary inquiries directed to the government regarding environmental improvement and natural resource management.
