Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the fourth plenary session of the Senate, the Law "On the Ratification of the Agreement on the Establishment of a Bilateral Strategic Partnership between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the State of Qatar," signed on 15 April 2024, in Tashkent, was discussed and approved.

Senators emphasized that the Agreement defines priority areas for cooperation aimed at enhancing political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian ties between the two countries.

The document outlines deeper partnership in key sectors such as education and science, healthcare, culture and cultural heritage, tourism, and sports. Special attention is given to the exchange of experience in training and professional development in economics, management, diplomacy, and tourism.

Moreover, the Agreement foresees the adoption of necessary measures to expand mutually beneficial trade-economic cooperation, attract and stimulate investments, and establish joint ventures in the private sector in line with international treaties.

The document also establishes mechanisms for coordinating efforts to combat international terrorism, extremism, the illegal trafficking of drugs, psychotropic substances, weapons, organized crime, and human trafficking.

According to the senators, the ratification of the Agreement will contribute to strengthening multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar, creating additional opportunities for joint initiatives.

Following the discussion, the Law was approved by the senators.
