Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Senate of Oliy Majlis approved a sample and design of a banknote with a face value of 100,000 (one hundred thousand) soums on 15 January, the press service of the Central Bank said.

The banknote of a larger nominal value is put into circulation by the Central Bank in order to increase convenience for the population when making payments in cash, reducing costs associated with making payments, storing and transporting cash, using ATMs to improve the population’s efficiency and optimizing the banknote series of the national currency.

Issue in circulation of banknotes of 100,000 soums will be carried out within the current volume of money supply and will not lead to its growth.

The type, description and date of issue of the new banknote will be announced by the Central Bank in the media.
