Senate introduces changes to law “On State Statistics”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan approved a law “On introduction of changes and amendments to law “On State Statistics” on 5 December 2011.

The law was developed within the complex of measures on creating favourable conditions for further developing small businesses and private entrepreneurship.

The law is directed at ensuring single approach to organization of the state statistics in Uzbekistan with use of international standards and principles.

The law introduces changes and amendments to the law “On State Statistics”. The law says that State Statistics Committee is authorized body for state statistics.

The document also includes changes, which determines tasks of the body, such as coordination and control over regulating in statistics and approves single statistics methodology and forms of statistic observation and others.

The law also introduces mechanism, in line with which state statistics bodies do not inspect businesses and correctness of their reports will be checked during submission process. At the same time, the document sets that businesses can introduce change to statistic report, while state bodies will change combined statistics data.

The amendments allow state statistics bodies to carry out state statistics observations of legal entities and individuals, including individual businesses.

At the same time, the law sets that the state statistics bodies can request only those statistic data, which included to the programme of the state statistics work, while departmental statistic observations can be conducted by the state and economic managements within their jurisdiction.

In line with the amendments, the statistic data can be submitted in paper or electronic forms.
