Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 September 2024, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis hosted a meeting between Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbaeva and Kaha Imnadze, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN, including its specialized agencies such as the Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, were discussed.
The participants also exchanged views on continuing efforts to strengthen good-neighborly relations, promote economic growth, and ensure peace and stability in the region. Special emphasis was placed on gender equality and the development of youth potential, including in the field of education.
An agreement was reached to jointly develop and implement targeted programs with active parliamentary oversight.
