Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 9 September, the Senate of Uzbekistan held a meeting with a delegation from Al-Azhar University, emphasizing the growing multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Egypt, supported by the political will and joint efforts of the two countries’ leaders.

The dialogue highlighted the continued development of bilateral contacts and dialogue at the parliamentary, governmental, and ministerial levels. Special attention was given to the seminar "Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Studying Islamic Teachings on Women’s Rights in Uzbekistan," which features participation from renowned Islamic scholars and religious experts from both countries.

The seminar aims to advance the protection of women’s rights and interests, formulate practical proposals, and implement positive experiences in this field.

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has long-term cooperation with Al-Azhar University in promoting women’s rights, healthcare, education, employment, and participation in public life. The meeting also included discussions on future collaborative plans and joint international initiatives.
