Senate considers report of Central Bank for 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan considered report of the chairperson of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan for 2010 at its session on 27 August 2011.

After hearing and discussing the report of the chairperson of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan Fayzulla Mullajanov, Senators noted that the Central Bank of Uzbekistan carried out its activity in 2010 in line with the law “On Central Bank of Uzbekistan” and ensured implementation of tasks, put by the parliament and leadership of Uzbekistan.

At the session it was noted that in the result of the firm monetary-credit policy in the reporting period ensured strengthening macroeconomic stability and supported level of inflation within the planed figures.

In 2010, the level of inflation made up 7.3% and aggregate capital of commercial banks grew by 1.4 times. Adopted measures on increasing capitalization of the banks helped to ensure capital adequacy level three times higher than international standards. The banks’ assets grew by 32.1%.

Senators underlined that it is necessary to continue work of the Central Bank on further improving legal base of financial-banking activity, increasing financial stability and liquidity of the banks due to further their capitalization, attracting private capital, etc.

During the session, Senators made proposals and recommendations on further increasing efficiency of the activities of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

Senate approved a corresponding decision after discussion of the report.
