Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At a meeting of the Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms, the Law “On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with improving legislation in the field of cybersecurity”, as well as the results of a study of the state of work on the development of entrepreneurship and the creation of new jobs in the mahallas of Samarkand region was discussed.
During the meeting, it was noted that the Law vests the Central Bank with the authority to take measures to identify and prevent threats to information security and cybersecurity in the activities of credit and payment organizations, payment system operators, currency exchanges and credit bureaus.
In addition, regulations related to ensuring cybersecurity are being introduced to the Law in the Code of Administrative Responsibility, the laws “On the Central Bank”, “On Banks and Banking Activities”, “On Bank Secrecy”, “On the Protection of Information in an Automated Banking System”, “On Electronic Government”, “On Payments” and payment systems”, “On non-bank credit organizations and microfinance activities”.
According to the senator, the adoption of this Law will strengthen information security in the activities of credit and non-bank credit organizations, as well as in the e-government system.
After this, members of the Committee, within the framework of parliamentary control, discussed the results of the state of work on the development of entrepreneurship and the creation of new jobs in the mahallas of the Samarkand region.
It was noted at the meeting that a number of positive results have been achieved in this regard. In particular, in the region, as a result of the launch of 5,441 micro-projects on the “Online Mahalla” platform by the khokim’s assistants, a project worth 1.27 trillion soums was mastered and employment was provided for 23.5 thousand unemployed citizens, 298 households who are trying and wishing to earn an income are involved in entrepreneurship on livestock and poultry farming, 331 – trade and services, 264 – agriculture and greenhouse farming.
At the same time, attention was paid to the fact that mahallas do not take full advantage of the opportunities for developing entrepreneurship and creating new jobs.
In particular, the possibilities of locating service and recreation facilities on the banks of the canal passing through the city of Kattakurgan, Pakhtachi and Kattakurgan districts, and developing the provision of services and services on the highway passing through the region have not been fully exploited.
At the meeting, responsible officials of the region were pointed out about violations of the law when considering appeals from entrepreneurs in the city of Samarkand, Pastargom, Urgut, Ishtykhan, Narpay, Payaryk and Bulungur districts.
After discussing the issues on the agenda, it was decided to submit them for consideration at the next plenary meeting of the Senate.
