Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, met with the head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) office in Uzbekistan, Bito Yoshibumi.
During the conversation, it was noted that the visit of JICA President Akihiko Tanaka to Uzbekistan and his meeting with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in January this year marked an important stage that opened a new period in the cooperation between Uzbekistan and the agency.
Special attention was given to the importance of the partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan, particularly in the context of JICA's educational programs, which play a key role in strengthening inter-parliamentary relations and developing human resources.
Operating for over 50 years, the Japanese agency continues to support socio-economic development and contribute to the sustainability of developing countries.
During the meeting, practical training programs were discussed in key areas such as public administration, agriculture, energy, and the private sector, as well as increasing women's participation in these initiatives.
Also discussed was the implementation of professional development programs for local Kengash deputies, which will be an important step in further developing regional parliaments.
